About us

Our Approach

Values

Five Continents Partners is a corporate governance firm based in the Cayman Islands, regulated and licensed by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority under the Companies Management Law.

We formed Five Continents Partners in response to the global financial services industry’s increasing demand for a new corporate governance model.  The demand for experienced, active and engaged professionals to provide enhanced governance services and solutions has never been higher and we see this trend only continuing.  Our highly experienced, specialist independent directors are senior professionals, with a unique blend of track-records spanning several decades.

We have significant expertise across the full financial services spectrum including alternative investment vehicles and captive insurance.  Our team of senior professionals have the right depth and breadth of experience to provide effective governance solutions for all stakeholders. These high standards of corporate governance are a crucial aspect of attracting and retaining top tier institutional allocators and improving credibility with investors, regulators and fund promoters.

About us

Our Approach

Values

Five Continents Partners is a top tier governance service provider for sponsors, investors and investment managers who demand best practice in today’s environment. Our approach at Five Continents Partners differs from some other offshore directorship firms in the following ways:

We only have experienced and senior professionals with a breadth of industry expertise, including hedge funds, private equity, captive insurance, asset management and local trading businesses.  Our directors have a minimum of 25 years of experience in their chosen field of expertise.

We will limit our individual appointments so that we have the capacity to deal with every engagement with diligence, even during times of market stress.  We will disclose the number of appointments we hold to all our clients upon request.

Our directors are active and engaged and our flat structure benefits our clients through thoughtful and timely decisions; we provide independent, professional judgment exercised in a businesslike manner.

We understand that a "one-fits all”, rigid checklist approach does not work when companies are heterogenous; our directors understand the need for flexibility and adaptability.

We take time to understand the fiduciary requirements of each client engagement and determine which of our directors is best suited to each opportunity. We will clearly communicate that process with each client.

Putting the best interests of the companies we govern first

We take time to understand the fiduciary requirements of each client engagement and determine which of our directors is best suited to each opportunity. We will clearly communicate that process with each client. Experience

The founding members of the firm’s governance services have in excess of 100 years of combined experience and are committed to keep that knowledge current. We attend key industry educational opportunities and are a trusted source of knowledge on the latest offshore developments and regulatory issues.

Independence

We seek to avoid conflicts of interest and will maintain that position at all times.

Business-like approach

With the backgrounds of the founding partners, it will be of no surprise that all affairs will be conducted in a pro-active, commercially minded manner.

Added Value

We believe in delivering value for our clients. We are experienced professionals and look to add-value to our clients wherever possible.

Long-term relationships

Our senior staff are principals in the business ensuring continuity with our clients. Our goal is to build long term mutually beneficial relationships.

Investment Fund

Captive Insurance

We understand that clients in the alternative investment fund space are increasingly interested in quality fund governance, especially for their hedge fund and private equity fund investments.

At Five Continents Partners, we recognise that alternative investment fund investors are demanding more from their board of directors. Investors rightly expect board directors to add value through good governance, and as a result of our deep bench of experience, we are able to offer a best-in-class fund governance service.

We are proud to apply Five Continents Group’s high standards to this business line; by delivering independent, professional judgment in a businesslike manner. With our core team’s diverse skills and experience we consider our governance offering to be among the best in the business.

Investment Fund

Captive Insurance

The Cayman Islands is the second largest domicile for captives and holds the number one position worldwide for healthcare captives. We have been acting as independent directors for the captive industry in Cayman for over 15 years. We have worked with a wide range of captives, both large and small, and our team have a deep understanding of the various captive structures and life cycles. We add value by understanding the complete business model and by having strong, established relationships with many Cayman service providers.
